Beautiful home in a beautiful place! We loved having The Doug as our home away from home for a couple days. A lovely way to end our three week holiday in stunning New Zealand! Thanks!! 🙂

Our first trip to NZ! Castle Hill was the second place on our tour of the South Island, and we couldn’t have picked a more beautiful house and place to stay. We’ve had a wonderful time and will not forget this place in a hurry.

Magical weekend stay at The Doug!  Loved the warmth of the central fireplace + amazed by the construction.  We will be back!

An inspirational mountain retreat you’ve created in The Doug, so warm and cosy.

Another pack of Aussies returned to The Doug for a longer stay to enjoy the skiing and Castle Hill. We enjoyed settling into The Doug and making the most of this awesome log home. I fear I will yet again have to drag [my partner] away at the end of our stay. The kids love the playground at Castle Hill, especially the tree which is slowly growing into a tree house. We hope to return again next year, or [maybe even] fit in a fishing trip later in the year. Can’t say enough about The Doug, we love it! Thanks for letting us stay.

Amazing stay, magnificent views and biking activities, overview of the idyllic NZ central plateau. Catered very well for a large family. Thanks and Happy New Year! Great facilities (kitchen well stocked with utensils, etc), a great spot. Had a great family reunion.

Thank you so much for last minute accommodations at your beautiful home! The weather was great and our family loved the rocks at Castle Hill. We only wish we had more time to explore this amazing area. Next time…
